What your coworkers see.

What Do Your Coworkers Experience?
Colossians 3:12–14, 17, 23

Last week, we focused on bringing Christ home. This week, we have focused on taking Christ to work.

In this Good v. Godly series, the difference between the two can sometimes be hard to see. A good worker may be respected, promoted, rewarded, and trusted. Those are good things!

So what makes a godly worker? A godly worker does good work with the character of Christ. Compassion, kindness, humility, patience, forgiveness, and love shape the way they treat people. Their example is seen in their relationships as well as their work ethic.

On Sunday, I asked you to imagine that I walked into your workplace and introduced myself to your coworkers as your pastor. Would they be surprised that you attend church? Would it make sense to them because of the person they know? Have they seen anything in your words and actions that points to Christ?

Before Paul spoke about life at home or at work, he wrote, “Whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus.”

Does the way you work honor God? Do you treat coworkers with the compassion Christ has shown you? Are you someone who makes peace and extends love?

Your workplace may be one of your greatest spheres of influence for the gospel. Christ must go to work with you!
